Biovest International Announces Key Additions To Senior Management Team.

Worcester, MA. September 23, 2005. Biovest International today announced the addition of two individuals to its senior management team.

Dr. Abdellah Sentissi, joined the company in  May 2005 as Vice President  of Quality Control and quality Assurance. Dr. Sentissi was most recently Vice President of Quality Systems at GenVec of Charlestown, MA, where he was responsible for all aspects of  QC testing and QA affairs. Dr. Sentissi had also been Chief of the QC Laboratories at the Massachusetts Biologics Laboratories in Jamaica Plain, MA. Dr. Sentissi holds a Ph.D. degree in Clinical Chemistry from Northeastern University, a MS Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of California at San Francisco and a BS in Pharmacy from the University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France.

David H. Aglow joined the company in September as Vice President of Manufacturing. Most recently Mr. Aglow was Senior Director of Manufacturing at Nephros Therapeutics in Lincoln, RI., where he was responsible for site and contract manufacturing operations and for the start-up and development of all manufacturing operations. Mr. Aglow also held the positions of Director of Processing at V.I. Technologies in Watertown, MA and Senior Director, Manufacturing Operations at North American Vaccine in Columbia MD. From 1983-1997 Mr Aglow was employed by Merck and Co, Inc, where he rose to the position of Manager, Biological Operations.

Dr. Carl M. Cohen, Chief Operating Officer of BioVest commented “These two senior management hires will allow BioVest to move into the next stages of preparing for the commercialization of our BiovaxID individualized vaccine therapy for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Enrollment in our phase 3 clinical trial is rapidly approaching the halfway point and we are accelerating our planning for a successful launch of this product. Under Abdellah Sentissi’s leadership we have already created a more effective QA and QC organization that will position us to file a Biologics License Application as our trial nears completion. David Algow’s experience in designing and building commercial biologics manufacturing facilities will be put to immediate use as we identify a site for our commercial vaccine manufacturing facility in the very near future.”
