Personalized Cancer Vaccines
Our lead product, BiovaxID®, developed in collaboration with the National Cancer Institute (NCI), is a late-stage (Phase III), patient-specific, cancer vaccine, targeting the treatment of follicular non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, mantle cell lymphoma, and potentially other B-cell blood cancers. Both follicular lymphoma and mantle cell lymphoma are generally considered to be incurable with an urgent need to improve survival rates. BiovaxID is believed to be capable of prolonging remissions by enhancing current standards-of-care for the treatment of B-cell lymphomas without the often toxic side-effects associated with other therapies.
Hollow Fiber Bioreactor Technology
Biovest markets a proprietary line of automated hollow fiber bioreactor systems, including the innovative AutovaxID™ which is a production platform for the scalable manufacture of difficult-to-produce biologics including personalized medicines, monoclonal antibodies, cell culture vaccines and therapeutics targeting highly infectious agents. AutovaxID is the production system used in the manufacture of BiovaxID, Biovest’s personalized cancer vaccine, and is also being evaluated by the U.S. Naval Health Research Center as a novel production system for viral vaccines.
